My views on structuralism

“Men made language, and language can make man mad”

 Human mind remembers and understands the things in structure. Or rather call it thing, what Structuralist calls it sign(idea, concept, image). Mind remembers signs of that thing. Everything has its own structure, the same applied in literature and in language. In language we found “S+V+O”. Literature follows the same structure as human life, birth, old age and death, in literature we found the same thing but in different way the beginning, the middle/climax and the end or resolution. They say that word has not meaning at all, the meanings are generated by context, in which it is used.  structuralist believes that we assumes the meaning by convention. Convention depends upon the occurrence of the word, like Hindi words BABAJI KATHULLU, and recently the word MAUKA which are repeatedly used now days.

Garrard Genette give the Narratology in order to understand the structure of the literature.
It consist of five parts, and here I have tried to analyze the movie Ek Villain 

Order :- it has  B>A>C  the event/murder has already occurred.  it starts with the funeral of the Aisha (shraddha Kapur), then Raghu(siddharth maliya)went to the flashback, he remembers the time which they spends together present and it ends after hero takes revenge of his beloved’s murder..

Frequency:- the dialogue A…villain is repeatedly used in the movie, though it was just spoken only one time by heroin, it gives her remembrance to him..

Duration :- the narrator takes us two years back in past , 

Voice:- narrator is unknown, even he is not character I the story


Mood :- the narrator is compassionate with the pain of hero..

#Masaan movie review

Recently released Bollywood movie “#Masaan” highly appreciated in ‘Cannes Film Festival’ for its cinematography, symbols, dialogues, acting and storytelling. But, I’m sure most of you haven’t even heard the name of the movie. It was released in last July. Souls are said to be liberated in Kashi, and #Masaan(Smashan). In this way title is symbolic as well as significant. It captures the unique character of a town-Allahabad which has been wrestling with life and death for centuries. Director has presented the place as it is, its beauty and ugliness. #Masaan a desolate place follows two heart breaking tales. One is of Devi whose life condemned after caught in the act(in Hotel With ‘Piyush’). The second plot is of a lower caste boy Deepak, Who falls in love with ‘Shalu’ at first-sight. There are many conflicting elements: the mendacity of the “Pandas” and “Doms”- the men and the boy who pile up and burnt the bodies near Ganga Ghat, And younger generations trying to move out of the age

Very Brief Summary of The White Tiger by Arvind Adiga

The white tiger novel published in 2008 by Indian young writer Arvind Adiga, which won him glittering Man Booker Prize of the year 2008. The novel presents India in quite different and unacceptable way and by and large this India would be unexpected by most Indians. The novel has simple plot that how a poor man from countryside becomes an entrepreneur in present globalizing India.                                     The story is divided in six nights every night he tells the biography of an entrepreneur. Every night a narrator tells the story to a Chinese premier. The way of telling a story is quite different and innovative. In the first night the narrator is listening to the radio, and he listen that a Chinese premier Jiabao is coming to India to know the story of how entrepreneurs are growing in India. The narrator tells he himself is the best example of the entrepreneur. While telling story Balram is narrating a nation by presenting a canvas on which all things occur.
